THE CHALLENGE

The challenge: extreme duty cycles expose the limits of conventional chemistry.

High-performance hybrid powertrains impose duty cycles that most battery chemistries cannot survive. The requirement is unambiguous: absorb and release the maximum possible energy in the shortest possible time, continuously, without degradation, in the smallest and lightest possible package — and do it safely.

NMC offers high power density but limited cycle life and thermal runaway risk. LFP is too slow and too large. Silicon deteriorates rapidly at high rates. None solve the full problem simultaneously.

XNO® delivers the highest power density of any commercially available safe Li-ion chemistry. A hybrid energy store built with XNO® can deliver hundreds of kilowatts from a remarkably small and light package — enabling faster energy recovery during braking and more powerful delivery during acceleration, without degradation over the vehicle's operating life.

In motorsport, XNO® enables a hybrid energy store smaller and lighter than any alternative at equivalent power output, with a cycle life that survives the repetitive extreme duty of competitive racing. Safety is uncompromised: EUCAR Level 3, no thermal runaway under abuse, no lithium plating at any state of charge.
