THE CHALLENGE
Industrial duty cycles demand more than conventional batteries can sustain
High-power industrial energy storage imposes duty cycles — high C-rates, continuous cycling, long operational lifetimes — that degrade standard LFP and NMC batteries rapidly. The conventional response is to oversize the installation significantly. The result: inflated capital cost, larger footprint, and the eventual need to replace a much larger battery bank.
LTO handles these duty cycles but at low energy density and high cost. XNO® matches LTO's power and cycle life at significantly higher energy density and lower cost — enabling installations correctly sized for the power requirement and effective over the full asset lifetime.

Where XNO® changes industrial ESS economics

Peak shaving & frequency regulation
XNO® charges symmetrically at the same rate it discharges — at 10C, continuously, without degradation. A correctly sized XNO® installation replaces an oversized LFP bank at a fraction of the footprint and capital cost, while participating fully in active power management and grid-balancing services that LFP's charge rate cannot support.

Hybrid power generation
Fitting a high-power XNO® battery buffer alongside a generator allows the engine to run at optimal load continuously, while the battery absorbs load transients and delivers peak power on demand. Fuel savings of 60–70% are validated in field deployments at high utilisation, with payback periods well under two years.

Microgrid & off-grid applications
Remote and off-grid industrial sites increasingly combine renewable generation with battery storage and backup generation. XNO® is well suited to the high-cycle, high-power demands of these hybrid microgrids, operating reliably across wide temperature ranges without active thermal management.
